Visual Artist

Stephanie Barbosa Torres is a visual artist based in Bogotá, Colombia. She holds a Master's Degree in Research in Artistic and Visual Practices from the Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha (Cuenca, Spain), which she completed as a Fundación Carolina scholar. Recognition of her academic excellence earned her the Extraordinary Master's Degree Award (2023–2024), granted by the academic committee of the Facultad de Bellas Artes at UCLM. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Arts from the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional, where her graduation project, "Los Puentes: Acontecimientos Poéticos en el Mundo Epistolar".She was awarded the 2025 International Residency Grant in Fine and Visual Arts by the Instituto Distrital de las Artes (Idartes), carried out at Córtex Frontal in Arraiolos, Portugal. Additionally, she was an artist-in-residence for Sincretismos del Sur at Espacio, Taller, Galería as part of Idartes Red de Espacios Independientes grant (2024).Some of the exhibitions in which she has participated include: Ruta Viva de las Experiencias Artísticas at Centro Felicidad Chapinero (2026); Bienal Internacional de Arte y Ciudad de Bogotá within the popular art curation at Claustro de San Agustín (2025); Anudar el nido/ Anidar el rincón at Proyecto Binario (2025); Sin título: Esto es una exposición at Sala Acua (Cuenca, Spain, 2024); and the 46 Salón Nacional de Artistas: Inaudito Magdalena at Banco de la República, Ibagué (2022).
