Stephanie Barbosa Torres is a visual artist from Bogotá, Colombia. She has a Master’s degree in Artistic and Visual Practices Research from the Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM - Cuenca, Spain), which she completed thanks to the Fundación Carolina scholarship. Due to her academic excellence, she was awarded with the Premio Extraordinario de Máster (2023-2024) by the academic committee of the Facultad de Bellas Artes at UCLM. She also has a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts from the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional (UPN - Bogotá, Colombia), where she received a Meritorious Graduation Project distinction (Summa Cum Laude) for: "Bridges: Poetic Events in the Epistolary World".She is the winner of the 2025 International Residency Grant in Plastic and Visual Arts by Instituto Distrital de las Artes (IDARTES - Bogotá, Colombia), which took place in Córtex Frontal gallery (Arraiolos, Portugal). She was also an artist-in-residence in "Sincretismos del Sur" program, part of the Independent Spaces Network Grant by IDARTES (2024) at Espacio, Taller, Galería.Her work has been shown in various exhibitions, including the International Biennial of Art and City in Bogotá (2025) within the Popular Art curation at Claustro de San Agustín, and the “Anudar el nido / Anidar el rincón” (2025) project at Proyecto Binario. Other notable participations include “Sin título: Esto es una exposición” at Sala Acua (Cuenca, Spain, 2024), “Ni olvidadas, ni reconocidas” at the Centro Cultural Universidad de León for the Independent Publishers Fair (León, Spain, 2023), and the 46 Salón Nacional de Artistas: “Inaudito Magdalena” at the Banco de la República (Ibagué, Colombia, 2022).
